Stacy’s passion for excellence, her positive attitude and drive to succeed has captivated attention and made her a go-to resource for leading organizations
Throughout the years, Stacy has worked with leaders in for-profit, non-profit and student organizations of all sizes to help them reach their individual goals. She has authored and co-authored books, workbooks, training manuals, journal articles and many other publications about leadership, teams and communication.
Using this experience, Stacy’s focus helps leaders determine what works best for them and their organization. The “Work it Out” Philosophy is founded on the belief that every problem has a solution. Focusing first on the leader, then on the people provides a refreshing methodology for organizations to work out any obstacle. As part of the whole organization thinking, Stacy has been able to use her resources to help great organizations refine and redevelop their leadership effectiveness.
Stacy Smulowitz, Ph.D., ABC, is Chairperson and Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Media at The University of Scranton, Executive Director of the Eastern Communication Association and has a freelance strategic communication consulting firm that provides strategic guidance to organizational leaders. Dr. Smulowitz teaches courses in advertising, leadership, teams and organizational communication.
Her research focus is on theory and strategy for assessing and promoting excellence in organizational leadership and advancing the equality and leadership opportunities for girls and women. Stacy’s leadership expertise has helped organizations such as the Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Smulowitz holds a Ph.D. from Rutgers, an M.S. from Ithaca College and a B.A. from Wilkes University. She is accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators. Dr. Smulowitz’s most recent book, The communication solution: Leading successful change in higher education, was published in 2021.
